This tool is similar to the built in Spotlight but is a little different. Many people find is more efficient for them.
After installing the tool then use Control+Space to launch and type what you want.

I have since moved to using Alfred, https://www.alfredapp.com/. It used Alt+Space to invoke. It also has options to add web searchs a keywords to it's interface. It's nice to decouple searches from the specific browser being used.
